Kadachakka Curry (Bread Fruit Curry).


A spicy bread fruit curry,specially included for those vegetarian lovers who can enjoy the same flavours as in some of the meat dishes.

INGREDIENTS:

Bread fruit 250 gm (cut into small pieces)

Onion 1(chopped)

Garlic 1 clove (chopped)

Ginger 1 small piece(chopped)

Green chillies 4 (slit)

Turmeric powder ¼ tsp

Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Coriander powder 1 tbsp

Coconut oil 2 tbsp

Curry leaves 1 spring

Coconut milk ½ cup

Hot water 1 cup

Salt to taste

METHOD:

  1. 1.    Heat oil,fry all ingredients except the bread fruit,season with salt.
  2. 2.    Add the bread fruit,stir a couple of minutes.
  3. 3.    Pour the hot water,cover and cook dry.
  4. 4.    Pour the coconut milk,warm lightly without letting it boil,remove.
