Fish Mornay.


½ kg fish slices

For The Stock:-

1 Sliced big onion

4 splited green chillies

1 sliced tomato

1 ½ tbsp ginger

Salt to taste

2 ½ cup water


Flour 2 tbsp

2 tbsp butter

1 cup milk

2 cups fish stock

2 eggs

1 tsp pepper

Salt to taste

2 tbsp grated cheese


  1. 1.    Boil 2 ½ cup water with onion,chillies,tomato,ginger and salt.When it starts boiling add the fish pieces and cook until done.
  2. 2.    Remove the fish pieces and drain the stock water and keep.
  3. 3.    In a pan melt butter and fry the flour.when it starts bubbling reduce flame and add milk and fish stock and mix thoroughly.
  4. 4.    When it reaches a creamy consistency remove from fire and add 2 beaten eggs,pepper powder, salt, grated cheese and mix properly.
  5. 5.    In an oven proof dish spread half the sauce, then place the fish pieces pour the remaining sauce over this.Top it with sliced tomatoes, grated cheese and bread crumbs.Bake at 180 degree to 200 degree for half an hour.

  1. hai meenakshi please check recipew of this not matching the time of cooking and colour fish and u mention fish slice but this is prawns normaly prawns also fish but it will call seafood or prawns only…..bread crum coook inthe oven 180 degree 30 minute it will come black colour……please check it…if i am wrong sorry for that….
